Community design

A Community Design Right can be applied for from the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO ) or through a competent national authority (the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) in France). The applicant can then obtain protection for the entire territory of the European Union.

A centralized filing mechanism is also provided for by the Hague Agreement if you wish to file your design in several countries. Thus, a single application can be filed with WIPO if the applicant wishes to obtain protection in a large number of countries.
