Patent Pool
Definition : Patent Pool
The « patent pool » is an agreement between several partners whereby two or more contracting parties agree to grant each other cross-licenses for their respective patents and authorize the parties to grant licenses to third parties for the patented technologies that are the subject of the contract.
The initiative may lead to the creation of a separate legal entity responsible for managing the granting of licenses to third parties, however, this element is not essential.
