Scope

The database covers the decisions of the Unified Patent Court handed down in litigation involving patents declared essential to a standard, since the Court opened on 1 June 2023. Each entry identifies the panel, the division, the type of action, the parties and the case numbers, and links to the official decision, which remains the sole authoritative source.

The FRAND classification is editorial. It rests on the identification of the dispute and its subject matter, not on a patent-by-patent essentiality review. Disputes in which essentiality is not established remain outside this selection.

Key notions
